hipla Kedar is a high-altitude Shiva shrine beside a glacial lake at roughly 5,200 metres, reached by a five-to-seven-day trek from the villages above Dharchula. It has no entry on TripAdvisor, no operator packages, and no infrastructure — which in 2026 makes it close to unique among Himalayan pilgrimage sites. Local communities have walked to the shrine for generations; outside trekkers almost never do. Darma Valley and Chipla Kedar have no TripAdvisor presence at all. There is no booking anything — the trek is assembled by hand in Dharchula.
