About Shirdi

Shirdi is a small town in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district, famous worldwide as the home of the revered saint Sai Baba. The Sai Baba TempleSai Baba Temple complex is among India's richest and most visited temples — receiving an average of 25,000 devotees daily (and up to 100,000 during festivals). The Samadhi Mandir houses the marble idol of Sai Baba and his tomb, with a 24-hour Shej Aarti (bedtime prayer). The DwarkamaiDwarkamai mosque where Baba spent most of his life, Chavadi where he slept on alternate nights, and the Gurusthan where he first appeared as a young boy are all within walking distance. Shirdi has excellent infrastructure for pilgrims — the Sai Prasadalaya serves free meals to 40,000 people daily. Shani Shingnapur (a famous Shani temple where houses have no doors) is 65 km away and often combined with Shirdi.
